Tonight I'm rereading my manuscript and editing as I go. I had to cut the first 10 pages or so, which is pretty normal for me, so I lost some words.
I always flounder a bit at the beginning of a new WIP, so during the first edits I chop off all the backstory that I'd written to get myself started, and start at the first action point. Then I can sprinkle the backstory I'd cut throughout the rest of the book in tiny bits.
I'm hoping to have this to my beta readers soon so I can turn this baby around and give it to my agent!

Congrats on that! I edited Sun and Monday plus yesterday I had a headache from hell. So, today the muses are kicking my ass.
