The Final Day: Day 31

This is it! The last day of the month!

Can you make it to 50K words by the end of today?

This has been an amazing, fun adventure. I'm so glad you all joined me in writing 50,000 words this month.

Shall we do it again next year?

Day 27

Sorry I didn't have yesterday and today's blog posts up. I've been a bit crazed.

I was signing cover flats at Book Expo America at the Ellora's Cave booth on Wednesday, and yesterday I announced that I'm now being repped by a literary agent (read the blog post about it here) as well. Busy busy.

But I do apologize.

I know yesterday we got one May50K winner already, @rawiyamikembl. Congrats!

Day 22

I'm working tonight. Don't know how writers with day jobs get anything written, I find it nearly impossible to get words down on my work days.

What's your word count?

Day 21

I have a wedding to go to tonight so I'm taking off work, but I'm still planning on writing today.

How about you? What's your word count?

Day 20

The month is flying by! Are you on track? What's your word count?

Day 15

We're at the halfway point in the month! If you're on track, you've got approximately 25,000 words written. If you're behind, don't worry, there's still plenty of time to catch up. If you've surpassed that, then go on with your awesome self!

Either way, keep on writing! Don't stop to reread or to edit - you can edit in June! For now, just get that first draft down on paper.

So.... What's your word count?

Day 14

Sorry the post came up late! Blogger has been acting funky and I didn't realize my scheduled post didn't go up until just now.

So what's your word count?

What's your word count? Have you run into any issues?

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Day 7

Yay, it's been one week of writing like crazy! So, what's your word count?

Day 3

What's your word count?

UPDATE: I'm getting this weird Error 503 message when I try to comment today! Oh noes! If you try to comment and are unable, please email me at shoshanna.evers@ yahoo. com (no spaces) and I'll try and post your word counts.

As of 7pm my word count is zero for the day, but that will hopefully change once DS falls asleep.

Day 2

What's your word count? Are you off to a good start?

Sunday, May 1, 2011

Day 1

It's here, May 1st!

Today I'll be starting a new 50K WIP, however you may choose to add 50K to a project, or to write several shorter works that add up to 50K, etcetera.

All I ask is that you comment on each post with your word count progress. So I might comment when I write 1K, and then if later in the day I add another 1K I'll update my total word count in the comments section.

I've decided to turn off the Captcha thing where you have to type the weird words so it will be quick and easy to come and comment with your word count.

If you have a problem or need a kick in the pants, ask for help! We'll all push you toward productivity :)

So, fellow authors, What's Your Word Count??

Outlining for May 50K

I'm halfway through outlining my May 50K WIP. My goal is to finish outlining the whole ms before starting to write on May 1st.

Anyone else doing any special preparation?

May 50K!

In the spirit of NanNoWriMo (but in no way affiliated with NaNoWriMo, natch), let's write 50,000 words in the month of May.

There are no rules. This is free and everyone is invited to join. Just write 50K words and comment each day on your word count progress.

You can also use the Twitter hashtag #May50K when you Tweet your updates.

I'm going to start outlining now and on May 1st I'll be writing a complete 50K novel, but you can do whatever you want. You can add 50K to a current WIP, you can start now and finish in May, whatever. :)
